Introduction to GreenSHADES and the Eco-Struction Program
The GreenSHADES Foundation, a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit, has teamed up with Atelier7LLC to launch the Eco-Struction Apprentice-Internship Training Program. This groundbreaking 12-month program is designed to equip up to 100 participants with advanced, sustainable construction skills, empowering them to thrive in the rapidly growing green construction sector.
Eco-Struction is more than just a training program; it is a catalyst for community transformation, individual empowerment, and the advancement of sustainable practices. Your partnership will be critical to the success and far-reaching impact of this initiative, helping to establish a national standard for training the next generation of green construction professionals.
Green Building Materials Training
As part of the Eco-Struction training, apprentices will have hands-on training in the use of one of three innovative green building materials to construct affordable, sustainable homes:
- Modular/Shipping Containers – Repurposed containers, designed for efficient construction and minimal environmental impact. (LIVE BUILD MARCH 1ST)
- Simulated Insulated Modules (SIM) – High-performance modules that are mold, fire, water, and windproof, termite resistant, and capable of withstanding tornadoes and hurricane-force winds. These materials offer exceptional durability and energy efficiency.
- Eco-Bricks – Recycled and compressed earth materials that are durable and environmentally friendly.
These materials are chosen for their ability to create resilient homes that not only reduce environmental impact but also provide lasting protection against extreme weather conditions. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience with these materials, allowing them to develop practical skills for building safe, sustainable housing solutions.
